Company Membership

Help guide big picture decisions at Green Hive

What does it mean to be a Company Member?

Green Hive is a Company Limited by Guarantee and a Registered Charity. This means we don’t have shareholders or share capital. Instead, we have a group of Company Members — individuals who play an important role in shaping our organisation’s future.

Company Members help guide big-picture decisions, such as changes to our constitution, who sits on our Board of Trustees, or even winding up the organisation (not that we’re planning on going anywhere!). Members also make a small legal commitment to contribute £1 if the organisation were ever to close and had outstanding debts.

Being a Company Member isn’t the same as being involved in day-to-day volunteering or operational work, or supporting us financially such as Joining the Hive — it’s more about helping steer the long-term direction of Green Hive and making sure we stay true to our purpose.

Who can become a Company Member?

Anyone can apply, you don’t need to provide a reason, but if you'd like to share what inspired you to apply, we’d love to hear it — there’s space on the form to do just that.

If you're interested in supporting our governance and helping Green Hive grow sustainably, becoming a Company Member is a great way to get involved.
