What We Offer
The Green Hive Community Hub at Seaman's Hall in Fishertown is home to our Active Travel Hub and our Zero Waste Fabrics Store. The Active Travel Hub is the base of operations for Trike Nairn.
If you like being active, and would enjoy showing people around Nairn and its coastal pathways, why not train as a volunteer pilot for Trike Nairn? Or if crafting is more your thing, and you want to develop your sewing skills, then you could join the volunteer team at our Zero Waste Fabrics Store - making new friends and contributing to meaningful creative projects, while assisting our mission to reduce the amounts of unwanted fabrics going into landfill. We also have places for gardening volunteers interested in tending to the Sensory Wellbeing Garden at Seaman's Hall, and the community orchards at Riverside and Viewfield.
At the Balmakeith Industrial Estate, the Green Hive Community Workshop works with volunteers to take discarded waste plastics out of local ecosystems, converting these into useful everyday crafted items for sale to a wide range of clients. Since its inception in 2019 the Community Workshop has diverted more than twelve tonnes of plastics from landfill - much of it retrieved directly from Green Hive’s own community litter-picks. This work has provided beneficial learning and personal development experiences for a wide range of local volunteers.
