About the Event
Your opportunity to find out more on what plastics can and can’t be recycled. How to tell them apart and what can go in your recycling bin at home.
The workshop is led by our Enterprise Project Office, Andy MacVicar. He’ll share with you the knowledge he has built up over 15 years working with materials in manufacturing to spot the different types of plastics, and discuss why some are easier to recycle than others. Andy will also share with you some of the techniques used to recycle products Green Hive are making in the workshop with their Volunteers as part of a circular economy from waste in Nairn.
To take home you’ll get the Green Hive Plastic Recycling Education Pack so you can continue your plastic identification mission at home too.
What you’ll need
Just bring yourself along and we’ll provide the rest. The workshop will start at 2pm and we’ll have a refreshments break halfway through too and serve you up tea/coffee and cake. We’ll finish at 5pm and send you off.
We have a range of plastics that are donated, reclaimed from landfill and collected through beach cleans so no need to bring any with you.
