Teen Sewing Bee: Upcycling Workshop

Hosted by Green Hive at our Seaman's Hall, Tuesday 22nd October, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.


Calling all creative teens aged 13-18! Join us for a fun and interactive sewing workshop focused on upcycling and design. Whether you're new to sewing or have some experience, this is a great opportunity to learn new skills, get creative, and have fun with friends.


Event Schedule:

  • 11:00 - 11:45: Wee Pattern ChallengeKick off the day with a surprise sewing challenge! 

  • 11:45 - 13:00: Design Your UpcycleTime to get inspired! Bring along a garment that you’d like to give a new life. Our skilled tutor, Patricia Craig from SewUniqueNess, will offer advice and guidance as you brainstorm and plan your upcycled creation.

  • 13:00 - 13:30: Lunch BreakPlease bring a packed lunch and take a well-earned break to recharge before the afternoon sewing session.

  • 13:30 - 15:00: Let's Get StitchingPut your design into action! Sew your upcycled piece using the provided sewing machines, with Patricia on hand to help as you bring your vision to life.


Additional Information:

  • This workshop is designed for teens aged 13-18.

  • Participants are asked to bring a packed lunch and a couple garment they wish to upcycle.

  • There are 6 spots available—so sign up soon!

  • All sewing machines and materials for the pattern challenge will be provided, and you’ll have Patricia Craig’s expert guidance throughout the day.
