Green Hive Growth!

Our staff have been busy bees during these sunny months

Caroline and Neil have put together a wee video for you to update you on our progress so far and to provide you with an overview of our business plan, we hope you enjoy! Let us know your feedback

We have had a super busy June - some highlights included:

  • The fantastic news that we received the Queens Award for Voluntary Service

  • We successfully broadcasted the first ever Highland Ocean Plastics Webinar, which brought together experts in the field of marine plastic pollution from all over Scotland to educate and inspire people to take positive local action to stop plastic pollution.

  • Our bespoke litter picking kits have made their way out into the community - helping to tackle the growing litter problem in Nairn's green spaces, thanks to funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund, we were able to create 10 litter picking kits. We would love to be able to create more kits for the community in the coming months.

  • Andy has been very busy at the Green Hive workshop - working hard to make our space at Balmakeith a creative space with 2m distancing in place. We will be getting in touch with our workshop volunteers shortly to start a phased return to our plastic recycling and we will be trialing a booking system for donation drop-offs of your HDPE and LDPE plastic.

You can check out all the detail in our monthly newsletter here

Meet up with us on Friday the 10th of July on Zoom from 3pm - 4pm to catch up with Neil, Andy and Caroline - bring your own bourbons!
