It's the New Year and we are excited to announce new team members have joined the Green hive staff team. We all came together in December to give Neil Mapes, our outgoing CEO our best wishes as he departed to pastures new. As we embark on a busy 2024 we are delighted to welcome our new CEO and also adding to our capacity the new role of Enterprise Assistant in our fabrics social enterprise. We know you will all join us in giving them a warm Green Hive welcome.
Matthew Withey : CEO
Matthew has an extensive background in heritage and museums, and for the last 10 years has specialised increasingly in third sector development and fundraising. He is a Glaswegian, but has been living in the Highlands since 2017 and has worked in senior management positions at the Highland Folk Museum and Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, as well as coordinating recent development projects at Kyle & Lochalsh Community Trust and North West Highlands Geopark. As CEO at Green Hive, he has oversight on all aspects of the charity's work, with particular responsibilities for staff and resources, strategy and growth - working with the Board to implement our business plan and ensure long-term organisational sustainability.
Jan MacPherson: Enterprise Assistant (Fabrics Workshop)
With a background in the third sector, it has been a long-held dream of Jan’s to get involved in a project which specialises in the creative re-use of fabrics and craft materials. In this one-year post, funded by the Rank Foundation, Jan is excited to lead the development of the existing fabrics workshop based at Seaman’s Hall towards being a sustainable volunteer led social enterprise, and to support the overall development of the Seaman’s Hall as a sustainable community hub for Nairnshire.
