Green Hive at the Green Health Day

What a brilliant time we had today!

Our leaf gathering champions managed to collect over 20 bags of leaf fall in 2 hours, all added in to the communal mulching bays.

We had great fun gathering leaves, compacting leaves and turning the mulch - thank you so much to Annie from Keeping Nairnshire Colourful and our new board member Jane for keeping on top of the mulch beds!

It was so lovely to be outdoors enjoying the fresh air with Nature 4 Health - a huge thank you to Stephen, Ruaraidh, Emma and everyone at N4H for including us in today's fantastic programme of activities!

We also want to say a huge thank you to Trees for Life - we now have 4 little Hazel trees which were kindly gifted to the Viewfield community orchard and will one day become a tasty hedgerow for people, birds and beasties to enjoy.

If you attended the Green Health Day today - we hope you had a fantastic time!

Caroline is looking at setting a date in late November for some serious leaf wrangling and mulch turning - keep your eyes peeled for an update as we will need all hands on deck!

If you want to head down to the Viewfield in your own time and gather leaf fall - we have marked the beds to be added to - please make sure you just pop leaf fall in the beds though - we removed enough tree branches to make an insect hotel!

Unfortunately we also gathered a wee bit of rubbish and litter - remember to take your waste and leave no trace in our green spaces! There is a public bin located outside the sports centre for you to pop your rubbish in.

All in all - a brilliant way to spend your Thursday!
